Kyle snapped open and everything inside of him poured out. The gush of blood and gut slapped into the windscreen of the truck that killed him, then the vehicle sped on and the remaining fragments of Kyle’s body armour and limbs peppered the traffic behind it. The time was 18:03 and we were picking up speed down a long sweet stretch of Dmitrios highway.
I was the only speedjack to see the murder. That, in itself, was a poor reason for getting involved. Kyle’s life and death were his own concern. But the means of Kyle’s demise insulted me. I took it personally. I took it as a challenge…
